On Friday, November 8, 2024, Lead Haiti Academy hosted a memorable investiture conference on its campus at Milot. The ceremony served as a platform to introduce the newly elected Student Council for the 2024-2025 academic year, symbolizing a fresh chapter in the school’s commitment to empowering young leaders.
The event, characterized by professionalism and a celebratory spirit, brought together students, teachers and staff to witness the official presentation of the council. Under the skilled guidance of Mr. Louidor Genard, the Pedagogical Supervisor and master of ceremony for the investiture conference, attendees gained insight into the structure, election process, and vision of the new council.
The Election Process: A Transparent and Inclusive Approach
Ms. Nacheka Jean Pierre, the school’s Administrator and Secretary, took the stage to deliver a detailed account of the electoral process. Her report reflected the school’s commitment to fostering democratic principles among its students.
“At 10 a.m., the elections commenced to select the members of the new central committee of Lead Haiti Academy,” she shared. “Four elective positions were contested: President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Delegate. For the Delegate position, three candidates vied for the role. Similarly, three candidates competed for Secretary, two for Treasurer, and four for the President position.”
Ms. Nacheka Jean Pierre further explained that certain nominative positions within the council were filled through appointments. The President, in collaboration with the elected central committee members and the school’s administrative staff, selected individuals for these roles. This approach ensured a balance between democratic participation and strategic decision-making.
