In 2004 Haiti celebrated its 200 years of independence as the first black nation of the world. Yet, in that same year Reverend Jose JEAN_PIERRE, a Pastor, father, and a community leader sadly observed the social, economic and political degeneration of his country. Everywhere there was despair and hopelessness. Among the most vulnerable were women, young people ,and children particularly, over200,000 at risk orphans before the January 12, 2010 , 7.0 devastating earthquake that killed over300 000 plus Haitian nationals; homeless children were shamefully sleeping all our public places, the front our churches, on the sidewalks, living underneath of bridges and seeking food from in side dumpsters like little animals. No one cared for them. No social programs, were established , no government programs were aimed to bring relief or to change their lives and destiny. This horrible situation pushed Reverend Jose JEAN_PIERRE, a native Haiti an to take action to do something about this deplorable and intergenerational problem.

He began by gathering a group of leaders and young people to pray and address the pains and suffering and destiany of the abandoned children in the city of Capital Haiti and in other cities of Haiti as well. Deeply touched by the problem and social danger faced by these at risk children , Reverend Jose Jean Pierre’ s parents Mr. Malherbe and his wife, Bernadette JEAN_PIERRE consent ed to legally donated a portion of their land to build an orphanage to house and care of a first group of 300 children, boys and girls alik From their the CHI began to immediately start a feeding program for malnourished and hungry children in the community and in rural area located within 10 kilometers of the city of Capital of Haiti , the second largest city on the northern region of Haiti.

This is this vision of COMPASSION for these poorest of these children and the service of love and care provided by the Leadership teams lead by his insparation to found the charity, COMPASSION FOR HUMANITY, Inc, not only to Help these abandoned homeless, and hopeless children (over 500,000) ,but also to care for the most vulnerable ones, everywhere through education, feeding, housing, and to include adoption as well. CHI’s goal to uproot the causes of poverty for all underprivileged children it can reach. The projects ultimate goal is to work with poor families, single mothers, and small farmers through micro development programs, community healthcare outreach, school feeding programs, teachers, churches, and Community leaders involvement.
