A Pivotal Turning Point for the Shalom-Desplantes Community and Beyond
Lead Haïti Organization, in partnership with its sister organization, Compassion For Humanity, based in the United States at Key West, announces the launch of a large-scale project aimed at transforming the educational and professional landscape of Haiti’s Northern Department.
Named the Lead Haïti Computer Lab, Research Center, and Vocational Center (LHCLCR), this initiative aligns with Lead Haïti’s ongoing efforts to promote quality education and provide accessible training opportunities for all.

A Vision Rooted in Education as a Pillar of Development
Since its inception, Lead Haïti has been committed to developing programs that facilitate access to education and strengthen the professional skills of young people. LHCLCR follows this mission by incorporating a computer lab, a semi-virtual library, a research center, and a vocational training center.
Pastor Jose Jean-Pierre, CEO/Consultant of Lead Haïti and the project’s initiator, expresses his firm belief in the positive impact of this initiative. According to him, education and training are the keys to sustainable transformation. His favorite adage encapsulates this philosophy well: It is better to teach someone how to fish than to give them a fish.
This project is designed not only for students of Lead Haïti Academy but also for neighboring schools and young people in the community who wish to acquire practical skills. The goal is to train qualified professionals capable of contributing to the country’s development.
An Inspiration to Dream Big
Vertières is also a reminder that Haiti’s history is one of greatness and triumph. This heroic narrative can instill a sense of pride and belonging in young people, encouraging them to believe in their potential and aim high. Students who understand the importance of their historical heritage are more likely to develop a sense of responsibility toward their country and actively contribute to its progress.

A Comprehensive and Diverse Training Program
The center will offer a wide range of vocational training programs to meet labor market demands and local realities. Among the disciplines offered are:
- Nursing Sciences – Essential training to prepare healthcare professionals capable of meeting the population’s medical needs.
- Building Construction – Equipping young people with skills in masonry, carpentry, and other construction techniques to support the country’s infrastructure development.
- Biblical and Theological Studies – A spiritual approach to training religious leaders grounded in faith and prepared to guide their communities. The missionary training program will provide biblical, spiritual, and professional knowledge to effectively respond to the Great Commission of Jesus Christ. This initiative includes a Bible school for children, equipping them with practical knowledge as part of their spiritual education.
- Agricultural Techniques – Promoting food self-sufficiency and teaching young people best agricultural practices.
- Building Electricity – Technical training in electrical installation and maintenance.
- Foreign Languages (English and Spanish) – A gateway to global opportunities and enhanced professional prospects.
- Educational Sciences – A program designed to train the next generation of teachers and educators.
- Home Economics – Helping young people effectively manage household resources and develop practical life skills.
- Information Technology – With offices already operational and equipped, this training is at the core of the country’s digital transformation.
- Music – A space for artistic development for aspiring musicians looking to professionalize their talents.
- Cosmetology – A program in beauty care and aesthetics, catering to a growing industry.
- Sewing and Fashion Design – Encouraging entrepreneurship and craftsmanship in the textile industry.
And More – The project remains open to additional disciplines based on the evolving needs of the community.

A Lasting Impact on Youth and Haiti’s Future
The LHCLCR initiative is a concrete response to the educational and professional challenges faced in Haiti. By providing access to qualifying training, it paves the way for a generation better prepared for employment opportunities and entrepreneurial ventures.
Lead Haïti Organization, with the support of Compassion For Humanity, invites the community, partners, and benefactors to support this innovative project. Together, we can positively impact hundreds of young people and build a brighter future for Haiti.
